If you are traditionally published, who is your agent? If you are self-published, what publishing software do you prefer/ who is your publisher?

I’m self published and I publish widely, and use PublishDrive to do that. I am a little confused by the question so if I didn’t answer that right, let me know!

What inspired you to help women own their voice through storytelling?

My own experience with my own story/stories being ignored and bearing witness to other diminished voices or those who never take the opportunity to own that their story matters.

What is one book that profoundly impacted you as a writer, and why?

The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd. It was in the midst of other nonfiction books I was reading about alternative feminine narratives on religion but I really appreciated the way she laid out her story of Jesus’ wife and incorporated other well-known aspects of that discourse. She is a wonderful story teller!

What is your favorite hobby outside of writing, and how does it influence your creative process?

Reading lol. It definitely informs it but I am highly picky about what I read for pleasure now. Then there is my family of 5, so they get a lot of my energy and capacity, beyond my business! I also love to workout, to move and that definitely helps me channel my creative energy.

If you could give any advice to a new writer/author, what would it be?

Don’t begin with only the goal of publishing a book in mind. Think through the vision, the Big Why of it because that will keep you going. Stories are so much more than just becoming books - it is about the impact and legacy you want to make with your story.
